Dennis Lehane's new novel, The Given Day, was released today. It's set during the Boston police strikes in the early 20th century. It's a bit of a departure from the norm for Lehane, who is known for his mysteries.
I'm quite excited to read this monster 700-page book. I was fortunate enough to hear Lehane speak about the book during the NEIBA Trade Show this past weekend, and it sounds like a winner. This is definitely a book to check out.
